Petroleum Coke Processing
Guidance
Petroleum coke is a product of crude oil which is separated by distillation from light and heavy oils and then transformed into heavy oils by thermal cracking. From the appearance, coke is irregular in shape, black lumps (or particles) of different sizes, with metallic luster, coke particles have porous structure, and the main element composition is carbon.
With the recovery of steel and electrolytic aluminium industry, the demand for carbon products made from petroleum coke has increased, and the market profit is considerable.
Powder Requirements
(1) Coke: Used as Fuel in Glass & Ceramics FactoriesApplicable Material: coke
Production Fineness: 180mesh D90
(2) Calcined Coke (low sulphur and high quality): Used to Make Graphite ElectrodeApplicable Material: low sulphur, high quality calcined coke
Production Fineness: 200mesh >D70
Calcined coke with low sulphur and high quality, such as needle coke, is mainly used to manufacture ultra-high power graphite electrodes and some special carbon products. In the steel-making industry, needle coke is an important material for developing new technology of electric furnace steelmaking.
